MEMBERS REVIEWS

Firstly, I must thank Lance, Esther and everyone involved with the RCA Winter Cricket Programs and the One on One Coaching Program.

Ashleigh started with RCA as a 13 year old cricketer and she has always been accepted as cricketer in her own right, making some lasting friendships.

Regarding the One on One coaching, Lance transformed Ashleigh into a QLD u/15 and u/18 representative player attending 3 National Championships.  She has been in the top wicket takers in the Katherine Raymont First Grade competition for the last 2 years helping Wests to 3 out of 4 Grand Final wins in those 2 years.

Her bowling action and variations are a tribute to the coaching of Lance and his knowledge of spin bowling techniques.

Lance’s coaching sessions have challenged Ashleigh in attaining to higher levels of cricket.  His coaching built a repeatable action that withstood the pressure of bowling to the likes of Beth Mooney, Delissa Kimmence or any First Grade player, performing to the level required.

Some stats – 84 matches, 372.2 overs, 46 maidens, 1454 runs, 86 wickets, 16.81 ave per wicket, 3.91 economy rate.

In Winter Cricket, Ashleigh played for RCA in the u/16 as a 13 year old and ended up in A3 as a 16 year old.  I believe this pathway of playing 2 day and 1 day cricket against older players, men in particular, has been an incredible learning experience that has set her up for Women’s Premier Grade cricket.

Lance has always been available for advice, coaching and mentoring outside of normal coaching sessions, for which we are thankful for.

Mick Sims, former Representative Level & First Grade Women’s Coach, father of Ashleigh – August 2019.

RCA have been coaching my son for the past 4 years, and Lance and the coaching team have helped him grow and develop his cricket skills on and off the field.  Highly recommend them for aspiring cricket players and parents wanting that extra support and a great mentor in Lance.

Since joining the Roudenko Cricket Academy in 2013, the coaching and guidance of Lance and the academy mentors have helped me to reach higher levels of grade cricket, and secure positions in underage Queensland representative cricket. The patience and dedication Lance has shown for not only myself, but for all involved in the academy, is truly astounding. From weekly fitness sessions, to private coaching lessons, and team trainings, Lance works to bring out the best of each individual towards their long term goals. At RCA, players are pushed to improve their cricketing abilities through self and peer reflection. The academy is an inclusive environment and welcomes all cricketers who share a love for the game. Being a member of RCA has made me a better cricketer, and the people I’ve met, and life skills I’ve gained have been truly invaluable.
